Purchasing Agent

Ansett Aircraft Spares & Services (AASS):Experienced commercial aircraft parts Purchasing Agent.

The position of Purchasing Agent will assist the Purchasing Manager in support of the company’s global sales and distribution network. Minimum of 2 years of industry experience, key contacts with airlines, suppliers and MROs throughout the aviation marketplace and hands-on experience with day-to-day material purchasing.

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for researching the market for required material, contacting supply sources and gathering pricing (specifically civil aircraft of Boeing and Airbus manufacture). A good working knowledge of commercial aircraft components and procurement techniques are minimum requirements.

Responsibilities include computer data input, communicating with supply sources via telephone, fax, e-mail, negotiating pricing, developing quotations and placing orders, interacting with sales staff and management to support customer requirements.

Experience & Educational requirements of the successful candidate:

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of commercial aircraft parts’ purchasing experience with a proven record of accomplishment.
  • Written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks under limited time frames while maintaining an attention to detail.
  • Organization skills; as pertaining to supplier contact and follow up.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
